What to wear to Pilates (and why socks matter)

Fitted clothes. Grip socks. Hair out of your face. That is the whole dress code — and the socks are not a merch play.

What should I wear to a reformer class?

Leggings or fitted pants and a fitted top you can move in. Avoid hoodies, long shirts, and anything that can catch in the carriage. You will be supine, prone, kneeling, and occasionally standing. If it rides up in a yoga class, it will ride up here.

Black is popular in our room because it photographs well and hides nothing about form — which is useful when an instructor is watching your pelvis, not your outfit. Wear whatever you already train in, as long as it stays put.

Why do grip socks matter on the reformer?

The carriage slides. Bare feet slip, and thick athletic socks bunch under straps. A thin grip sock keeps you on the machine and keeps the upholstery clean. We require them. We also keep spares at the desk, and your first pair is on us.

If you have WE socks already, wear them. If you do not, ask. Do not let a forgotten pair become the reason you skip the intro. That is a solvable problem at the front desk, not a character test.

What else should I bring?

A water bottle and yourself, ten minutes early. We have showers, lockers, and a tranquility room through the spa. Leave the extra layers in a cubby. You will not need a yoga mat — the reformer is the apparatus.

Jewelry that dangles can catch. Tie hair back. If you are coming from CaroMont or a school pickup, you can change here. That is what the locker room is for.
